Here are a number of utilites I have collected from various places that all aid in the cracking of unix style passwd files. Everything listed is on site, so there is no inactive links to files like some other lame sites have. If you know of files that should be here and aren't contact me and I'll see to it they are added.

Cracking Utilities:

John the Ripper v1.6 (DOS/WIN95) -John the Ripper is the latest cracking utility I have seen. It outdoes CrackerJack on 486s and Pentiums. Perhaps the best cracker going today.

CrackerJack 1.4 (DOS) -CrackerJack 1.4 Unix passwd file cracker. There are others but this is by far one of the best in terms of speed for DOS. Includes several text sorting utils also..

Jill 2.0 (DOS/Win) - The best text file converter I have ever seen. Written by The Scorpion. If you use CrackerJack this little utility will make editing your dictionary files a million times faster..

Pace Crack 1.1 (DOS/WIN/WIN95*) - The is an older cracking program that was made to run under Win 95 systems that could not run Cracker Jack due to the limitation of 16 megs of ram. Coded by Pacemaker..

Q Crack 1.01g (DOS/WIN/Win95) -Q Crack is a recent cracking utility ported to PC from unix code with some improvments. After testing it out myself it doesn't seem to work as well as Crackerjack. Several of the features can be confusing and I'm not 100% confident in it's ability to crack all correct passwords.
